That's Gemina and she was at the Santa Barbara Zoo, not LA. She was put to sleep last January; she was very old for a giraffe. Her neck wasn't broken but was malformed from birth. I fed her many giraffe treats over the last few years.
Fascinating.
Was kinda hard to imagine it'd heal that way.
