its what i use to view most videos on osx... however quicktime plays mp4 and mov's default for it so i dont bother changing anything :p
and as far as why use quicktime... its actually not quicktime... we just embed the mp4's for quicktime :P
most players will play mp4 now tho
if your having issues over thepast few days with videos its cuz we did a bunch of server moving... and that cause a few issues with the media servers :p
so that might be it ;)
