What's left of Washington Mutual is getting sucked up by JP Morgan. They get the deposits, but taxpayers get the bad debt. Anyway, I fucked called it, bitches!
Another two months the US is gonna be a bigger shithole than Iraq.
I figured either a cash infusion from private capital or a buyout of the consumer banking. I was hoping for the cash infusion so they could pull themselves out. I guess not. The people who lose are the shareholders.
I just read that WaMu got clipped by the FDIC before the JPMC announcement. It looks like JP is gonna take on the brunt of the write downs and not cost the FDIC any cash.
Actually, you are right. FDIC didnt have to capitalize the deposits that WaMu couldnt cover, but it appeared JP was gonna do a big write down, which made me think they were gonna take the loans.
Comments to BOMB IRAQ!

I had shares in WaMu up till a couple years ago...I even made a few bucks...no I feel dirty.
This is basically all your fault because you sold those shares. There should be a law against that.
Hmm I just read no bailout deal.
I was in the bank-failure pool for three this friday, but maybe that will go to 300.

JP is taking the deposits and the branches. I think the deal is that the bad debt is still being taken by the taxpayers.
Actually, you are right. FDIC didnt have to capitalize the deposits that WaMu couldnt cover, but it appeared JP was gonna do a big write down, which made me think they were gonna take the loans.
