Emotions keep a certain, property of water type balance when it comes to making choices. It's all chemicals anyway, take a pill you are happy, sucks that as humanity we are addicted to happiness chemical. Happiness junkies.

This is extreme to a degree where if a person is not happy forever, theey will self terminate! End your existance because you can't flow a peticular chemical in your system? It's not even justified, raping teenagers make some old men feel happy, should he pursue that? Or should the entire world just dope up on happiness drugs and just be hazed and dreamy until our 'appearently' meaningless existance comes to an end. In the end, emotions are really unnecessary, I personally keep them to a minimal, and eliminate a few completely (such as panic and fear).

In time we will evolve out of this, so we don't go around bombing each other in pursuit of chemicals, logic, and free choice should be our main decision making mechanism. See now some might argue that emotions are what makes us human. No, they are what makes us mammals. You stab a dog, it's going to bark, why? It feels pain. But if we make decisions while we are under the influence of say, pain we might even make certain choices which will end the life of other fellow humans.

Emotions make human life seem, Interesting and they speed up the elimination and behavioral evolution by letting us kill each other in large numbers, also fuck and make babies just as rapidly.

Future seems very interesting, but emotions, at least most of them seem to me like they will not be required as we progress.
