What German beer do you recommend?
I've been taking my taste buds around the world at my local deli.
that depends on what kind of beer you prefer. light, dark, tart, mild, sweet bitter? there is no such thing as german beer, we got around 3000 breweries and hundreds of local varieties of beer. i like all sorts of beer so picking one is really hard, but i really like bavarian weiÃbier (wheatbeer brewed with yeast), "weihenstefan" is really good...classic oktoberfest stuff.
I've only had dark German beers.
Wheat beers are great, I might try that.
just to clarify, i know that most beer is brewed with yeast, but the difference is that weiÃbier is not filtrated so you can not only taste but even see the yeast at the bottom of the bottle. some people find that disgusting, but its really good beer! shouldn´t be too hard to locate at least a bottle "paulaner" in the U.S., but "weihenstefan" is what i´d go for.
