What's a splash of mercury gonna do? Mercury's a cumulative toxin when ingested. It's not even a wetting agent so it would just run off his face without leaving a trace. Haven't you people ever played with mercury? You need to handle shit loads of it for years for the 'fumes' to start to affect you - perfectly safe for the occasional play.
