I read a couple, and (especially that last one) you seem to be confusing it with communism.
In a socialist country there ARE incentives - there's still an open economy with free trade, and all that good stuff.
What I'm saying is if America infused the current idea of capitalism with a few socialist ideas i.e. HEALTH CARE (like people in Canada and Italy enjoy) then we would form a better-oiled machine.

Or you could let people do as they wish so that any group of Americans that believed in it could start their own non-profit health insurance company. And those who didn't want to participate and instead chose to risk paying their own bills or deal with private insurance would be free to do so.
Telling the government to do something is just telling a few wealthy people "hey, you might not have any interest in this, or any expertise, but here's a shitload of money to do something badly and give me basically no say in how it's spent. And also make sure you take other people's money to pay for what I want as well."

You also completely lack an understanding of the fundamental /meaning/ of socialism. Freedom and control are not things which are arbitrarily given and taken in contemporary societies; furthermore, there's no evidence that "Obama" (*congress) or the gov't is going "take control of your health"; to say that is absurd, especially since Private Healthcare remains.
The fact so many Americans are blind to the basic idea of ADDING another level of healthcare to create a BROADER accessibility only speaks of the paranoia and media-fear mongering effects of which you live under. That, and good ol' McCarthyism.
