Dik and Kodega are both correct. The suspect had two guns. The police officers weren't disciplined and were cleared by an internal investigation.

I saw this on TV when i was in school. Our school had good priorities. "fuck learning, watch high speed chases and people getting killed!" They did the same thing for 9/11. we spent the whole day watching it on TV. There was some big sports event we watched on TV throughout the day too.
