When you take pictures of graphite drawings, the white is never white. If you use flash, it becomes white from the reflection of the lead. Scanning is the closest you can get to the real drawing and you have to have a nice scanner, too.

Have you take a picture of paper before? It doesn't come out white. If you use flash, it makes the center the whitest while the surround area of the paper is dark gray.
The paper I used was white. I adjusted it in photoshop to make it white, and I have bright ass lights in my room.
Any drawing you see that looks more or less like the original was either professionally photographed, scanned, or adjusted in photoshop.

ive done it many a time when my scanner was broken.
just take the pic when youre sure the light is at a good angle and if possible use natural light which works best.. but i guess you also have to factor in your cameras apeture or if youre using a webcam how it handles light... some are really dark no matter what others wash out everything at the first hint of changing light from dark to light... still hank is right cause ive done it before.
Yeah, you've done it before after doing a bunch of adjustments. I highly doubt smerf or anyone who just drew on a whim really cares to go through the extra effort. Not to mention most lighter pencil marks are washed away from the light and from the looks of this drawing, it seems to be mostly in light pencil marks.
