Actually I was referring to Governments worldwide, not /your/ shitty government. And it was in reference to healthcare specifically. He said healthcare under gov't care itself is the problemânot that your own gov't can't manage anything.
Health care under government is the fucking problem. You either get the government regulating the fuck out of everything so you're left with a small group of big expensive insurance companies that were evil enough to survive, or you get it totally taking over. Once it's taken over there is no opt-out, because that would collapse the system, so it then amounts to theft.

Cash only clinics can also make a hell of a lot of money. Insurance companies usually only pay about 30% of what is actually billed to them. Which then leads to clinics jacking up the prices so they can actually make money.
A cash only clinic may charge 60% as much as a normal clinic, but end up making more.
People being insured just results in jacked up prices overall. People pay premiums and when they finally have a claim they want it to count. The business being paid knows how to charge as much as possible, and knows the customer doesn't care because insurance is covering it. It inflates prices. If you go to India you'll find a middle class person can afford most stuff (like here they can afford most operations on their pets).
