Using NLP and other types of hypnotic jive, Darren Brown fucks with Simon Pegg's brain, I know that most of you people will say fake, but there is lots of proof that shit like this works... Pretty weird.

I believe that shit. Mad playas use similar, subliminal techniques, when picking up. It does work. The strong (without being gangsta) body language and non-indimidating physical touching, coupled with positive energy/attitude and an air of 'leading' the conversation the whole way... works wonders.
I could be skeptical, but I've got no doubt this guy has had years of experience. Hypnosis, in a sense. Neuro linguistic programming. Do the research.

You would have to have a "victim" with a very specific set of traits in order for this type of thing to work. While I'm sure they vetted their list of potential applicants very well, I still find it extremely difficult to believe anyone could be this suggestive, empathetic, distractable, etc.

Maybe small children, or very unintelligent people...?

I'd figured from the get go (though I never had an urge or want for anything while watching the vid), that somthing was wrong with the words he was saying, somthing I couldn't quite catch untill it was explained later in the vid.
Impressive, albeit, not quite as difficult as you may think (although not excatly an easy task, it does require good timing, basic know how on what to do and a good grasp of language - ability to double talk).

...On the other end of things, it would seem this was mostly possible due to the fact that they were both accustomed to Britanic english (aside from the fact the language was spawned from the country there native to). Such a feat would considerably harder to swing if the person whom the hypnosis was being conducted on was not used to a British style of speech.

Had they been born in the united states, canada etc. where they wouldn't have been nearly as exposed to and used to such talk, the subject may have just ended up becomming lost rather than distracted in an attempt to understand what Brown was actually saying (considering that most well versed North American speakers of english don't talk nearly that fast).

My guess is you'd simply have to be alot more slick, other wise the person trying to understand you would just simply give up trying to listen (Remeber you do have to absorbed in what hes saying for the most part in order for this to work).

I would agree with charman. but the whole "suss" of the thing is the place, time and fashion. You are in a big room that you are not comfortable with... You are in front of a lot of cameras, that you might be comfortable with, but yet, it is in the back of your mind, and yet... at the same time, you are the experiment.

All these things will play into the hypno's hand. The touching at key words, the brilliance of playing the key words into the mind. and the overwhelming aspect of being there, at the time, at the place... It just makes sense.

We have all had this happen to ourselves once in our lives. The true business man. The true salesman, who convinces us that, yes, we do indeed need something that we honestly really didnt need in the first place.

Yak, i love this vid. Well done sir. Well done indeed.
