wow has a lot of subscribers, but not a large percent of happy players anymore, they saw that about half a year ago and started with the starcraft and now d3 to make some cash on other cash cow franchises they have

It comes up saying, "Permission denied"... and rows of "usr/(blah, blah) lots of error codes", I think you might get the idea.... I even tried submitting my other older avatar, same thing happened...
I keep getting similar things when I try to submit content Wario. Been the same for a few days now. I think the server's still pissed at me for posting the 2001 thing.

Small fact: Starcraft II began development in 2004 after the release of the Frozen Throne expansion for Warcraft III

Took them long enough. Starcraft 2 is coming out like 10+ years after Starcraft. So it's safe to assume this won't be out for another year or three.
i have a feeling at least one of these games will be coming out *right about* the time warhammer online releases....
D3 is going to kill guild wars, theyre basically the same thing, and war will kill itself
everyone wants a new mmo to play and AoC failed to deliver so it lost, war is the same fucking thing as wow, and wotlk will sell like a mother fucker
aoc failed to deliver? i believe you will find the complete opposite if you look at how fast its growing.
guild wars is a fucking mmorpg, d3 is a fucking 3/4 overhead adventure game.... at least get your genres right when comparing games. as for warhammer killing itself, if they even get half the subscribers of the people who are signed up for their beta they will be the second most popular mmo currently available to americans..
aoc last i heard had over 500,000 subscribers at 15$ a month it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out they are basically minting their own money... also aoc has been having serious new things planned (i'm on their newsletter) so i'm guessing they are just going to improve over the next year. the thing you have to consider is the fact that aoc is targetted to 18+ AND has really heavy system requirements, yet they were able to pull in those numbers on a buggy game just because of people being fed up with other mmorpgs and wanting something "new"
warhammer will be much less system requirements, and have a pg rating, i'd be surprised if warhammer didn't hit 1m subscribers day one, keep in mind that the warhammer ip is *huge* especially over in europe.
diablo 3 however will be a game a bunch of people play for awhile (i'm sure i'll be buying a few copies of it, since i like the genre... being that titan quest is one of my favorite games)
of course wotlk will sell, wow has a lot of subscribers... i'm not really getting what point you are trying to make with that?
guild wars is NOT AN MMORPG. you go outside cities and youre on your own unless youre in a party. thats essentially the same thing as d2 except instead of cities you sit in bnet chat rooms with people
aoc does NOT HAVE 500,000 subs. they have 500,000 poor souls who bought the game like i did and found out its nothing like what they said. theres no endgame content, crafting sucks a cock, theres NO NUDITY, if you watch the conan movies and read the books there are tits all over the fuckin place, there ARE NO NPCS topless the only way to see tits is make a female char and take off her shirt. theres nothing 18+ about the game except decapitations and you cant get in trouble for saying fuck like wow
the "revolutionary" combat is just as repetitive as auto-swing and just makes you have to mash buttons and takes away 5 keys you could use to bind something useful. gold spammers are rampant and fc isnt doing a fuckin thing about it. if you played it from launch like i and the 500,000 "subscribers" did you wouldnt claim its going to be good in 1 year or a million
oh i totally forgot to mention sitting in line for a gm and being #121 for 3+ hours, that was fun, their customer service is all but non-existent
and priest archetypes, the only fucking healers in the game, do more damage than mage archetypes. that pretty much proves how shitty that game is and how the devs have no fucking clue how to fix it
everything i've seen lately about aoc looks like they are making huge improvements, they obviously rushed it out, since it was buggy as hell when it went gold master. only time i ever played aoc was before launch, so i don't know how it is now. but when i played it then (i think you may have even bashed warhammer online and talked about aoc on another thread) i knew i wouldn't be buying it.
the fact that i played aoc before release and didn't buy it, vs the fact that i'm in war beta and have pre ordered 3 collector editions of it should say which game i'm comfortable backing...
one thing you have to realize is companies like funcom don't have really anything keeping them afloat while they make games like this, so they have to kind of wing it a bit, take bigger risks. companies like blizzard can sit back and develop a game for 5 years and put it out whenever they feel its done, same goes for warhammer with mythic being under ea's wing.
are the funcom aoc forums still full of 12 year old kids whining and fighting?
I've spoken with 3 different people who have been in on the WAR beta from day 1, and are still going at it hoping for something good to come along. Alas, all of the good things that made it semi-decent to begin with have since been removed, and the game itsself is just like Dark age of Camelot, only with Warhammer skins. Dunno about you but even though I was once pretty well into the Warhammer universe (still love reading the books) the game just doesn't appeal to me one bit.
diablo3 is the best thing that will happen to me in my whole life, i'm going to play it for years.
but they need to darken the graphics, make it more diablo looking, it looks like mini WoW

theyre still planning another mmo, no one knows if it will be starcraft or not. if it isnt then it wont be diablo mmo or another warcraft so its either starcraft or something new
well, they are hiring for another "next gen" mmo but thats pretty old news... i'd have to guess wow 2, just for the fact that the engine itself is so fucking old in wow... but it could be anything... none of their other ip's have much depth to them except warcraft, so either its that, or they are going to be stretching for a lot of content writing... or buying another ip (which i can't really see)
The WoW engine is being tweaked for WoTLK I believe. I heard on the grapevine that their next MMO is Starcraft Online, which I'd be rather looking forward to.
no they are just adding a few things in like vehicle kinetics and stupid useless shit...
and starcraft online has been rumored for about 3 years ;/

Yak, I'm just going to reply in one short post.
Everything that Blizzard has done is original. Their games are great, and no I'm not a huge fan of WOW, I stopped playing after the free trial. But the fact is, Diablo was the first GOOD RPG of it's kind, and Warcraft and Starcraft are some of the greatest strat games ever created.
Hence why I've heard that 1 in 5 people in South Korea play the game, and why it has telivised matches. Don't bash it till you've played it. And I don't mean play for 30 minutes. I mean beat the game and take it online.
you obviously haven't played any other games if you think that blizzard created those games from an original source..........
warcraft and starcraft suck ass compared to any other rts they have ripped their game mechanics off of....

i never bashed diablo, i even said i was going to buy it.... but its not original :P
and diablo isn't an "RPG" its an adventure dungeon crawl game with some rpg elements... you want an rpg game, play the witcher....
please PLEASE don't say starcraft and warcraft are the greatest strategy games ever created... i'll ASSUME you mean real time strategy games, because if you mean strategy, then that brings in heroes of might and magic and civ (which both as far as strategy go blow away warcraft or starcraft), but if you go based on just RTS games, then you have company of heroes, and warhammer 40k for new games that completely fucking destroy warcraft and starcraft, then you go back and you see where blizzard ripped their gameplay off of, command and conquer and then before that dune, but after dune you had total annihilation... which is still one of the best rts's created
please don't say blizzard does anything original tho.... ripping ideas from other people isn't original...
this isn't even talking about wow, which is actually one of their genre changing games... but its not original either...
