Baroni got worked beginning to end. The second round where he supposedly gave a lot of "heart" all it was, was shamrock tryin to let baroni take him down. He wanted it to go to the ground because his knee was hurt. Baroni got rocked. As far as kicking him off, you dont understand the adrenaline and insanity that happens in a fight and in any intense sport i doubt it was intentional to be a dick. How can you say he went all out when he put up such a sad performance?

The Ref should never be allowed in the ring/hexagon again unless he's fighting. He could have legitimately stopped the fight several times when Baroni was down and making no attempt to defend himself.
As for Baroni refusing to tap out and getting choked out, that's not heart, that's a fighter too out of it to realize he's lost. Again, the Ref should have stopped the fight BEFORE Baroni passed out because it was extremely obvious at that point that it was Game Over.
baroni had too much pride. he just got completely owned in the first round. i admire baroni for bein able to stand up after all those bombs in the 2nd round.

Could someone explain the sort of damage he's talking about when he "blew out" those cruciate ligaments in his knee?
Usually, "blew out" means a torn ligament. But if he tore his cruciate ligaments, then there's no way he'd be in the ring.
Don't forget there is also the macho/showbiz type of blown out ligaments, i.e. "I twisted my knee a bit, but that doesn't sound hard enough for a pro fighter."
That's what I thought. Torn cruciate ligaments in other sports means your season is over, you go under the knife, you rehabilitate for 6 months (OK I made that part up) and then you either keep competing or you tear them again and repeat the process or retire.

I highly doubt Shamrock took this fight seriously and it looks like he prolonged it on purpose, probably to punish Baroni more. The first few times they are on the ground, where Shamrock would clearly be superior, Shamrock doesn't even do anything, just annoy Baroni until Baroni chooses to stand back up.
