    ^ Emission taxes for the air industry could be at least a form of payback. Currently airlines are exempt from any sort of tax on pollutions in pretty much every country.

    Difficult to make it happen though, the general public are already sick of taxes and charges for flights, especially when they don't appreciate the sort of emissions per passenger a transatlantic flight can produce.
