the way things are shaping up, if google isn't the one who's going to know everything about everyone, then another company will. In fact, there are probably companies out there right now who know all types of shit about you. At least we know the name of one, and they give us a really neat search engine to find nude pictures of famous celebs.

I'm not sure it's the best. My understanding was that it worked a bit like a popularity contest so despite their continued best efforts, people think up ways to scam their way up to the top of the results.
google is by no means even CLOSE to the best search engine... they however are one of the biggest, which makes their searches *SEEM* better

Saw this a while ago. It should be a surprise to anyone. In a previous job, I would have had access to your birthday, SS/SIN number, DL number, bank acount information, etc. if you had leased a or financed car in the US or Canada from a major dealer. I never had to sign any privay forms or be accountable to anyone. Many people can find out more about you than you can access yourself. Privay is an illusion.
So if you do research on how to commit crimes don't use google.

If you go onto Google and search for great deals on razor blades for your company one day, and then plane tickets the next, Google will inform the Dept. of Homeland Security and you will be put on the terrorist watch list. They have a list of keywords that when entered will trip all sorts of alarms. In the old movie "Hackers" they say that your name goes through 17 computers a day even if you don't do anything. Can you imagine how many it goes through today?
