    Not wanting to upset the cart, but Oranje is right. There is very little recordable history in the U.S. before colonisation. The good thing about Britain is the solid history we have here. Within a 15 mile radius of where I live (Blackburn, on the path of a Roman road), there is a Roman fort, a Bronze age settlement, various medieval battle sites, 10th C churches and historic houses from 12th century onwards. And as for the gene pool, Celts, Picts, Vikings, Norsemen, Normans, Germanics, (unfortunately French) and Romans to namebut a few. We're doing alright , thank you!
