The Schinooks are almost exclusively Marines.
I've known several Schinook mechanics in the ARMY. Special ops here at Ft. Campbell uses them quite a bit.

Usually if you're going to land on a ship, you'd start out above the ship and lower down, matching speed and direction if possible.
