javelin failure part 2
On Friday the 13th July 2007, during the IAAF Golden League at Rome's Olimpico Stadium, Salim Sdiri was hit in the upper body by a stray javelin thrown by Tero Pitkämäki. Sdiri was rushed to a local Rome hospital with non life-threatening injuries, however, the wound was more serious than the initial reports suggested and Sdiri had to return to hospital. Sdiri said: "The javelin touched the right kidney and there is a slight tear at the top of the kidney....the liver was also touched leaving a hole in it. The javelin penetrated over ten centimetres and not four as we initially thought." He returned to competition in early 2008.

Not that it's any better but that's why I pole vaulted in school.
Not that his chosen sport has anything to do with his getting nailed in the side.
ya that guy was a triple jumper not a thrower
I think I'll stay away from this event. People just ain't no good at it.
i think they could have 2 events in 1. the javalin and then the Human Lawn Darts event!! Bonus points for head shot
back in the day i would throw at birds with my team mates, sadly javelins are made for distance not aim
He looks like he's used to getting poked from behind.
