One of the finest comedies in recent years. Extras is fucking great too.
My soon-to-be-ex American wife 'got' the UK version of Office, and loved it (it even comes with little inserts explaining what certain words and phrases mean, so Americans won't be confused). The British version is very superior to the US one...and yes, check the credits...Gervais and Merchant are very-much responsible for the American version...lots of it are VERY similar...even the whole love-story thing.
The funniest thing about the American version is that fact they had to dumb it down & make all the jokes obvious.
And let's not forget Men Behaving Badly. Funny as fuck in the UK, absolute shite in the US.
Red Dwarf was a better comedy, but that too was lost in the conversion to American.
