K-B, thanks for that. Johnny Cash is the only "country" music that I find not only tolerable, but very very worthwhile. The rest of the Country Music community and music collection should have been lost in hurricane Katrina though!!
In case you wanted to know who all this people are:
Iggy Pop, Kanye West, Chris Martin (Coldplay), Kris Kristofferson, Patti Smith, Terrence Howard, Flea, Q-Tip, Adam Levine (Maroon 5), Chris Rock, Justin Timberlake, Kate Moss, Sir Peter Blake, Sheryl Crow, Dennis Hopper, Woody Harrelson, Amy Lee (Evanescence), Tommy Lee, the Dixie Chicks, Mick Jones, Sharon Stone,Bono, Shelby Lynne, Anthony Kiedis, Travis Barker, Lisa Marie Presley, Kid Rock, Jay-Z, Keith Richards, Billy Gibbons, Corinne Bailey Rae, Johnny Depp, Graham Nash, Bono, Brian Wilson, Rick Rubin and Owen Wilson.
Anyone got "Mercy Seat" by Johnny Cash? Was written and sung originally by Nick Cave. Would love to hear it. Even better so see it if it's a video clip.
That video is a disgrace to Johnny Cash's Legacy. How ironic that the opening quote of song is "He always identified with the poor and downtrodden" and then it cuts to a montage of ego-centric assholes who got their riches quick and easy. Yeah I'm really getting the somber "life's a bitch" feeling from these people who can wipe their asses with 100 dollar bills in their Beverley Hills mansion. Its basically a big PR stint so all these stars can publicize themselves as Cash fans (big deal, thats like saying you like the Beatles, no one cares) and sell the video by having big names in it. He would have never signed off on this shit.
Who has more to loose when it ends? Those people or the real people? Seriously how happy do you think they are when they are out of the glare of a spotlight?
Alas Hollywood always manages to become more cynical with every passing moment. Now celebrities feast on the carcasses of the fallen titans by claiming how they respected them as an artist and how they were inspired by their work.

True
I can see the music artist being in it but those Hollywood losers (Except Dennis Hopper) just killed it.
close your eyes and just listen
thats an awesome song that doesnt need a video
R.I.P.
Good song. Crappy video.
Kanye West is a fucking moonbat
brian wilson by far looked the craziest
Good song, bad vid. There aren't 5 people in that whole thing that know or care jack shit about J.C.
