i dunno both had their great moments... but just cause i enjoyed the way ledger took the joker into some serious darkness. i gotta go with him. but by a slim margin
I disliked Nicholson's take on the Joker. So even if Ledger did a mildly decent Joker, I would have liked it more.
Nicholson is always great... but he wasn't the joker. He was Jack Nicholson in makeup acting his crazy self, nothing more. I haven't seen the Dark Knight, to my great disgruntlement, but I've heard better things about Ledger's performance.

I agree. His Joker was basically Nicholson in makeup acting like he normally does.
I'll disagree COMPLETELY. While it's true, Nicholson's joker was truer to the comics, Ledger's Joker was deeper, darker and more realistic. His portrayal of the character made him a disturbing and brooding personality rather than a prankster/maniac which to me was much more impactful.
Heath Ledger's performance in The Dark Knight will go down as one of the greatest acting performances of all time.
Jack Nicholson is a fantastic actor , also Jim Carrey was the best Riddler by far.

It's really too bad Jim Carrey already played the Riddler. If he was in a good movie, his Riddler would have been much more appreciated.

No. Back on subject, Ledger's performance was excellent. I don't know what you base your information on Sevym but terrorists act very normally. Otherwise they tend to be easy to spot.
The new Batman has a better director. If Nicholas had Nolan it would have been totally different.
