grades are not the best guage of ones intelligence though. I know so many idiots that had good grades throughout school. Many of them even have learning disabilities or are partially mentally disabled. only thing grades prove are that you can work hard, not that youre more capable or above being a stripper.
In some of the classes we took, you had to be smart as hell to pass. I barely passed. She got a 4.0.
Grades don't prove that you can work hard, but rather that you can regurgitate "facts" that were thrown in your general direction. Curriculums and books used from grade school through college go through an intensive selection process geared towards the desired outcome of the students overall world view. Critical thinking, independent thought, and practicality are shunned, and sometimes even rewarded negatively in the grading process. I know people with advanced degrees who will never be employed or contribute anything useful to society, and who consider tying their shoes a feat of brilliance. Most establishments of higher learning in the U.S. exist to do two things, indoctrinate young people and take their parents money in the process.
