Question for Hank: Wouldn't Confuscianism and/or Buddhism be "logical religions" because they don't necessarily believe in any higher being, just people being able to reach a higher state of being.
I don't see why that would make them any more logical. I can't speak about Confucianism, but Buddhism claims to have some knowledge of a metaphysical nature, transcendance and reincarnation, for example. I don't think there is anything logical or reasonable about metaphsical beliefs.

Whether or not a big bang started the world has no bearing on the intelligence of religious people. Also, I was referring to education, not intelligence. Studies have been done, I'm not going to look them up for you, that show as education level increases likelihood to believe in any god decreases.
Secondly, science isn't concerned with proving or disproving the existence of god. God is, by defininition, metaphysical. Science deals with the physical world. Also, it is impossible to prove something doesn't exist. Science can't prove Santa Claus doesn't exist, but like god, it isn't very probable that he does.

Any scientific study is open to review and verification by other scientists. Bogus studies are eventually disproven. What disproves religion? Nothing, because religion doesn't use proof or evidence. No matter how ridiculous the religious belief system is, it can't be disproven.

point is they're finding more and more evidence. I dont remember when they found them, but the scrolls were some of the first documents to be put in the bible. and when they compared the current texts with those of the scrolls, it was like over 99% accurate. My point is that we are finding more and more evidence each day that prove these stories from the bible were true. What we've learned from the past is mostly from written records so why should the ones from the bible be false? You are a faithless idiot, babbling about how there is no god and blah blah blah....
