Los Angeles Police Pursuit Results in Pickup Losing Control
The chase reached speeds of up to 90 miles per hour.
The passenger-side tires of the pickup were destroyed when officers used spike strips. For about 20 minutes, the driver continued to drive the truck until he lost control and rolled down the embankment.
The truck rolled four times before coming to a stop, upright in heavy brush. One person was thrown from the vehicle. Two people were taken into custody.
The pursuit began in the Lake Los Angeles area at about 3 p.m. after a report of a possible carjacking. Authorities received a report that a motorist was carjacked at knifepoint.
