Everyone is submitting pictures of themselves, thought I'd do something different. Just some licks and solos I enjoy playing, though I'm not very good and the quality isn't great as I recorded and edited it on my phone
Spelling is very important. I will not hire a person based on a misspelling in a resume. Though, you might want a job first to understand the purpose. Punctuation is second. You could stand to learn a bit. Well, a lot actually.
vanhooveries your fuckin comment is stupid....Spelling is important to you????? How about clarity?? I'd rather someone was clear than spelled something wrong. Reread your comment and realize how dumb you sound
All three are pretty important. i don't even like sending text messages with abbreviated words or numbers instead of letters, like b4 or l8r *shudders*
vanvoorhies does have a valid point about spelling mistakes in resumes and, indeed, on all paperwork associated with professional conduct - but you're hardly likely to get hired based on the shit we all type here. Most spelling mistakes are ignored on Mucho unless you can become victimised in a funny way as per the smerf comment above. It added to the value of the thread. It was funny. He isn't a spelling Nazi, he is making the thread funny and interesting. Look how long these arguments go on for!
number one influence is John Petrucci from Dream Theater, but I'm mostly into metal, like Children of Bodom, Between The Buried And Me, Arch Enemy, early Avenged Sevenfold, and a lot of smaller UK based bands like SikTh and Mendeed. and yeh I started off playing piano, and can take a pretty good shot at the bass. recently have been learning drums too, but have a long way to go
i got lucky on the music front, both my grandparents played piano so they taught me from when I was 6, then about 8/9 years later i started playing guitar but I had enough music theory and knowledge from the keys to make the transition pretty easy
Anyway, to paraphrase... "I gotta start playing my guitars more often. This sounds good, but the ability to play scales and do repetitive motions with your fingers isn't very hard. Try a little free style."
yeh someone else mentioned playing blues, I can actually improv blues but I just forgot about it when recording. Maybe because while I was doing it some guy got stabbed just outside my back garden. True story
haha i live in london, but in a really shitty area. i was just playing away and i heard all these kids screaming outside my window. some car had stopped alongside this guy and the occupants had jumped out and beaten him with a metal pole then slashed him. it was pretty bad, his kids showed up.
BTBAM kicks soooo much ass i will not say anything negitive to it because you like them
what are you using, a gibby les paul
i can see that was a ibanez
i cant sweep for my life, thats why i stick to bass :)
yeh they rule, new album soon! I use a Westfield Les Paul copy, can't afford the real deal yet, but it was my first electric so i stick with it. and yeh the ibanez is an RG-7321
I still have my gray Les Paul copy from Epiphone. 19 years. The wires inside are all shot. I'm keeping it for the memories, man! Also, I may want to rebuild it.
Good technique at the end. Drop the 7 string and cut your tips, you sloppy piece of crap. Is that the Epiphone or the real deal? Sounded poor and the the color was off, but if you recorded through a phone, I can't imagine a difference.
I liked the 2nd piece (Pachelbel's Canon), well at least the original classical version, and I loved the 3rd one (Tapping Inspired). I've never heard that one before, and I'm not sure what it's supposed to sound like, but it sound really cool! Man, Yak, you got a big problem with your site. It took me almost 10 minutes (and 3 clumsy page reloads) to get the first part of the comment in. It seems if you have the video loaded and go back and watch part of the video again, you can't type anything into the comment box, until you reload and wait for all the pages to swap with each other and then they start scrolling up and down like crazy, and finally when all is settled, I'd forgotten what I was gonna type. Smerf, that may have been why your comment vanished earlier.
hey fuck you there's no rule about what can be submitted turd! if you don't like it fuck off. If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything .unless it's funny. then go ahead
i've heard steve morse in deep purple and dixie dregs, but not any solo stuff, and i like Yes so I'm familiar with howe, though again not any solo material. never heard of holdsworth
cheers dude, will check it out. most of the stuff i play and listen to is either metal or a fusion of classical and metal, but it's always good to hear someone doing something cool with a guitar no matter what genre
vai yes, malmsteen no thanks, my favourite player is John Petrucci, the guy can play anything with a passion which i think is unrivalled by any other player
i recommend The Glass Prison, In The Presence of Enemies, Fatal Tragedy and Stream of Consciousness, but all their songs sound different, from really slow and mellow to ball-breaking heavy, so get a few if you can
Hat's off to you, Ben. I even play the Triangle poorly, so I can appreciate someone actually playing with a stringy thing and using more than one finger.
You're very good, you don't give yourself enough credit... but for a while there I thought you were playing on a mini guitar, are you like... an 8 foot tall giant or something?
Kudos anyway, all I ever learned how to play was the harmonica.
Dream Theater are my fav band, it sounds so fanboy but i have their logo as a tattoo on my arm (and as my avatar.) Funny how you're American but spell theatre the English way and I'm English and spell it the American way
Wow. I thought you were the coolest person ever when you did the devil horns sign. It was really cool, but the guitar playing sounded like someone getting a tooth pulled. :(
Great guitar playing for a 1980's glam rock band. What was that Wyld Stallions Greatest Hits? Nice trucker hat by the way, it really compliments that shit stain otherwise known as your face.
Comments to Me playing guitar
pritty good ... i dont see it being all that apealing to the mucho sucko crowd tho
Spelling appeals to us, though. Why don't you try it?
Nope only to you smerf and a couple other spelling nazies, everyone else doesnt give a shit.
Spelling is very important. I will not hire a person based on a misspelling in a resume. Though, you might want a job first to understand the purpose. Punctuation is second. You could stand to learn a bit. Well, a lot actually.
Too bad...You miss out on a lot of good workers who cant spell. Get a bunch of lazy fucks that can spell.
vanhooveries your fuckin comment is stupid....Spelling is important to you????? How about clarity?? I'd rather someone was clear than spelled something wrong. Reread your comment and realize how dumb you sound
Grammar, punctuation and spelling. That's why I became a photographer instead of a print journalist.
All three are pretty important. i don't even like sending text messages with abbreviated words or numbers instead of letters, like b4 or l8r *shudders*
I find it ironic how vanvoorhies bitches about spelling and such, when he produces sentence fragments and grammatical errors in the same comment.
That's because vanoorhies has an extreme case of Autism, it's not his fault god hates him.
vanvoorhies does have a valid point about spelling mistakes in resumes and, indeed, on all paperwork associated with professional conduct - but you're hardly likely to get hired based on the shit we all type here. Fuck that guy i alredy gots me a damn job
Was that his pokemon collection in the background?
He's a fan of Smosh, and got it from them for free. If you know what i mean. These Pokemon, to understand the power that's inside.
what phone do you have that you can edit videos on?
I'm guessing he recorded it on his phone, then copied it to computer and converted/edited it. Guessing.
i have a the Sony W810i, it has a program called video dj on it, don't know if it's available in the US though
*I have the
Not really my cuppa mate, but technically very good and you're a lot better than you let on. Impressive!
Where are you from, Ben. Where's Bodom? Finland?
Forget it, I'll just continue reading the threads...
nice phone bro. also very impressive on the guitar. who are your influences? do you play any other instruments?
number one influence is John Petrucci from Dream Theater, but I'm mostly into metal, like Children of Bodom, Between The Buried And Me, Arch Enemy, early Avenged Sevenfold, and a lot of smaller UK based bands like SikTh and Mendeed. and yeh I started off playing piano, and can take a pretty good shot at the bass. recently have been learning drums too, but have a long way to go
How about Bullet for my Valentine or Soilwork???
never really listened to soilwork, and i find the singing bits of BFMV a bit cheesy. good riffage though
at 1:35 was the shit!!
i was thinking about writing a mucho sucko song with lyrics and guitar. but i thought it would be gay.
Yeah, I can see why you would think that.
Yes that would be gay but don't let that deter you. you have already taken that ball and run with it. plus i bet it would be funny
hey if the shoe fits wear it!
does that also count for babies?^
not bad at all kudos. we like fucked up things but some shredding is always cool
It sounded pretty good.
thanks, always nice to be appreciated. I'm just surprised no-one's commented on my 'ball-tickler' facial hair yet
I bet your boyfriend loves having his balls tickled with your facial hair.
I bet your boyf.....damn Mr Fug beat me to the joke.
haha you just got served!
I'd like to know the instrument on which you are making this fine music.
It's called a guitar. It's become quite a popular instrument over the past century.
Shut the fuck up. I play guitar and bass. I want to know the companies and models.
looks like a gibson les paul. but it's hard to tell since the headstock isn't too visible, the black one looks like an ibanez 7-string
I was thinking that but I'd rather ask and find out.
I wish I could play the gueetar.
it's never to late to start, get a cheap acoustic, learn some chords, and take it from there
Neh. Everyone wants to learn guitar. If you would want to get serious play bass because there aren't many bassists to go around now a days.
i DO play guitar. but i started with bass.
hey ramass, what's that in your hand?
i got lucky on the music front, both my grandparents played piano so they taught me from when I was 6, then about 8/9 years later i started playing guitar but I had enough music theory and knowledge from the keys to make the transition pretty easy
@ gutz its a gueetar
either play it or stick it up your ass
I can play cards.
I can play monopoly.
I can play with myself.
yea, I call that monopoly.
I can play with your sisters
i can play pocket pool, my cue stick always gets soft though
Orginal content on Mucho. Inconceivable!
You keep using that word... I do not think it means what you think it means.
So its inconceivable for him to know what it means?
Archman, did you just watch The Princess Bride or something?
No, it worked though. And you can't say that after what Hoopy said. Cats outta the bag on that one.
Oddly enough, I have "INCONCEIVABLE!" as a ring tone on my cell.
I use the 24 one.
i'm too poor to own a cellphone. buy a shirt or click an ad or something ;/
i'll give both my cellphones for your website
Personally I use the either the Benny Hill theme tune or the Battle Of The Planets one.
24's brilliant. Couldn't care less about the music (or the phone ring). Just 24.
i got duncan hills.
i challenge you to find a better scandinavian cartoon guitar player than skwisgaar skwigelf
Wow up until now there are no negative comments! So Ill be the first to say... YOU SUCK!!! But really though, your pretty sick on the guitar
i'll keep going. umm..nice dumb trucker hat asswipe.
Learn to play some blues. Practice your bends and vibratos. Make that baby sing.
oh shit i forgot about blues! i can actually play blues improv pretty well using a few scales, although I haven't learnt any proper blues songs
I'm blue da ba de da ba dumb.

FREE BIRD!!!!!!
Don't get into the plane though...
aw snap!
Where?
Needs more cowbell.....
She's got a FEVER and the only remedy is more cowbell!
Awww shit, I gave her Advil.
SNL is so far gone, cow bell is the end of the third age. At least Blue Oyster Cult went on to some comercial success. Sans cowbell and all.
i've just basically confirmed you are stupid vanhhoooowhatever
everything needs more cowbell. cows need more cowbell, i swear all the drummers have nicked them from the fields
WTF happened? My comment disappeared!
True story
fuck man where do u live?
iraq?
haha i live in london, but in a really shitty area. i was just playing away and i heard all these kids screaming outside my window. some car had stopped alongside this guy and the occupants had jumped out and beaten him with a metal pole then slashed him. it was pretty bad, his kids showed up.
Pretty much an average day in London then.
GO AMERICA!
or at least cincinnati.
wait... nevermind
you should have taken the video of the commotion outside. If it was at all mucho worthy.
nah it wasn't that exciting, a guy lying on the ground, some police, an ambulance, end of story
Nice try Ben, but thats not London. I can clearly see the sun shining through the window.
BTBAM kicks soooo much ass i will not say anything negitive to it because you like them
what are you using, a gibby les paul
i can see that was a ibanez
i cant sweep for my life, thats why i stick to bass :)

I still have my gray Les Paul copy from Epiphone. 19 years. The wires inside are all shot. I'm keeping it for the memories, man! Also, I may want to rebuild it.
yea i have a gib explorer, but all my other stuff is shit
Good technique at the end. Drop the 7 string and cut your tips, you sloppy piece of crap. Is that the Epiphone or the real deal? Sounded poor and the the color was off, but if you recorded through a phone, I can't imagine a difference.
see above dude, only a Les Paul copy
van hooorwhatever you're kind of a dick
yea van, why dont you fucking post a video of you playing, asshole?
the only problem with not trimming the ends is the vibrations can fuck up the clarity
Hey great job bro, brings me right back to earth
cheers man, I got a long way to go though and that's what keeps me practicing
I liked the 2nd piece (Pachelbel's Canon), well at least the original classical version, and I loved the 3rd one (Tapping Inspired). I've never heard that one before, and I'm not sure what it's supposed to sound like, but it sound really cool! Man, Yak, you got a big problem with your site. maybe if you stick those guitars up yer asshole it would be ms material, this however, nicely done as it is, just doesn't cut it. NEXT!
hey fuck you there's no rule about what can be submitted turd! if you don't like it fuck off. If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything .unless it's funny. then go ahead

i submit things but they usually dont get posted maybe he does too ...but he's still a dick
yeh sounds about right. seriously though I was at least expecting some flaming for the facial hair
ben ever listen to steve morse ? or steve howe or allan holdsworth?
i've heard steve morse in deep purple and dixie dregs, but not any solo stuff, and i like Yes so I'm familiar with howe, though again not any solo material. never heard of holdsworth
youtube has quite a bit of all three if you're interested. good job by the way.....godspeed
cheers dude, will check it out. most of the stuff i play and listen to is either metal or a fusion of classical and metal, but it's always good to hear someone doing something cool with a guitar no matter what genre
if you like "fusion" (i kinda hate that name) try allan holdsworth he's real fast and smooth and he plays with really great players
know what?i still haven't figured out how to post things in the "new" mucho.
maybe i should just go hang myself then.
You seem to have a side of Steve Vai and maybe a little bit of wife beater in Yngwie Malmsteen
vai yes, malmsteen no thanks, my favourite player is John Petrucci, the guy can play anything with a passion which i think is unrivalled by any other player
I'll have to check out Petrucci.
Oh, Petrucci's from Dream Theater. I'll download some songs to hear them out.
i recommend The Glass Prison, In The Presence of Enemies, Fatal Tragedy and Stream of Consciousness, but all their songs sound different, from really slow and mellow to ball-breaking heavy, so get a few if you can
rock 'n roll!!
Play some shadows fall, there good metal band
sadly alot of there stuff is really simple
still sounds amazing though
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyy!
Awesome.
Hat's off to you, Ben. I even play the Triangle poorly, so I can appreciate someone actually playing with a stringy thing and using more than one finger.
You should upgrade to the fish, its a bumpy hollow thing you play with a wooden stick.
You're very good, you don't give yourself enough credit... but for a while there I thought you were playing on a mini guitar, are you like... an 8 foot tall giant or something?
Kudos anyway, all I ever learned how to play was the harmonica.
you have something better...a very nice rack...
you're both right, although i'm actually only 6'4, but maybe the low angle makes the guitar look bigger
I play drums maybe I could do something then someone could edit it?
Nice Playin
cheers
agreed, quite good. wasn't expecting anything like that. plus DT kicks ass
YES
Really great playing Ben. I really love watching people play the music I enjoy. DT = Dark Tranquility?
im a big fan too
cheera man, was actually referring to Dream Theater but Dark Tranquility aren't bad either
Dream Theatre was in Chicago last friday. Not a fan of them tho'.
Dream Theater are my fav band, it sounds so fanboy but i have their logo as a tattoo on my arm (and as my avatar.) Funny how you're American but spell theatre the English way and I'm English and spell it the American way
I'm gonna see Heaven and Hell next month w/Alice Cooper and Queensryche. I thought I was spelling in English. Oh wait..nevermind
i saw alice on his killer tour back in the 70s pretty cool how he hung himself on stage
Wow. I thought you were the coolest person ever when you did the devil horns sign. It was really cool, but the guitar playing sounded like someone getting a tooth pulled. :(
Great guitar playing for a 1980's glam rock band. What was that Wyld Stallions Greatest Hits? Nice trucker hat by the way, it really compliments that shit stain otherwise known as your face.
appreciated
i liked it. don't know much about riffs, but i liked what i heard.
Well it sounded great man..you don't trim the ends of your strings do you? haha cuz I saw about a foot of string left.
