I just figured if the cops would cover up this traffic accident and frame her, they'd cover their tracks...you know, like lose the evidence or something.
That's actually harder than you'd think. All of those tapes are technically evidence, and the cops don't have access to them (though their Sergent does). However, if the tapes get lost, the last person to sign off on them can get in a shitload of trouble in the event of a lawsuit.
They probably thought it woudnt come to that. The chick was drunk, she stopped abruptly when her cat jumped out of the car ..... the only part they were going to bend was how closely he was following her. She shouldn't get off after driving drunk just because they bended the truth a little, but she probably will.

The only good run in I had with a cop was getting pulled over at 3Am for going 10 over the speed limit. When he asked what we were doing and I told him driving home after playing dungeons and dragons all night he laughed and let me go with a verbal.

you can do that here(usa) you just have to say you wont do it without your lawyer present and by the time he shows up, hopefully you wont be drunk anymore....thats perfect case senario anyway.

Breathalyser isn't that accurate, so it's not allowable in court. They use it as a screening tool, so if it comes up as too high, they still have to take you back.
