@ Boodles: I guess it would depend on a couple of things- whether or not I was actually fighting for "freedom" or if it was just some statement of propaganda; what the person "calling for freedom" was really getting out of all this (ie- was there some sort of personal agenda behind it all); how fucked I would end up if I did "answer the call" (especially if I lost my "freedom" FOR fighting); and whether the person(s) I was fighting against deserved to be fought (ie- whether or not they actually threatened my freedom).
Oh, and another thing...concerning targeting nation-states that allegedly have WMDs....I have a question: If you were being attacked (IE your country) and there was a considerable chance your government would be overthrown and your way of life ruined, AND you had the potential to retaliate by using WMDs, wouldn't you use them against your aggressor?? I mean, that's what they're their for, right? To defend yourself against aggressors (or against your enemies)....
So, from that reasoning, one would EXPECT to see signs of retaliation using WMDs against an aggressor whom is trying to eliminate their WMD stores. So, when you don't see that sort of retaliation, you should be able to conclude that they DON'T have WMDs
