That is one sweet platform to have over your head when the shit is flying on the ground. I haven't seen the "new" ones (C-130's) in action myself but spoke with some guys who have. These fuckers carry a 105mm, two 40mm and 1 or 2 20mm mini guns- radar and IR targetting-give some SERIOUS cases of lead poisoning if you are on the wrong side.

actually the "Puff the Magic Dragon" moniker is describing the gun, not the whole aircraft. the plane was called Spooky.
Spooky was it's technical nickname. The troops called the ship Puff The Magic Dragon because of the above spectacle. The guns were 7.62 mm (0.30 in) General Electric GAU-2/M134 miniguns.
