Quality police bullshit from Canada

Three cops pose as protesters at the Montebello summit (North American Union meeting) in Quebec Canada. As you can see from the tape, they are the only nasty guys there, trying to provoke confrontation so the cops will have an excuse to start beating up everyone. Because of the tape, the Quebec police were forced to admit that the three men were actually their own officers.

Montebello Quebec. Look for some youtube videos, your cops are doing this and beating and gassing people and the media is accidentally forgetting to cover it. I think the fake protester story made it to like 2 newspapers and 0 tv broadcasts.

This was a meeting between that sellout cunt Harper and Bush, as well as whatever cock runs mexico these days. The idea is three countries essentially become one. You canadians should be the most pissed - instead of becoming a wealthier country as you export more food and oil than you consume while these commodities remain at high prices, these things will essentially become north-american resources, rather than Canadian ones.

The leaders will always say there is no plan to merge the countries. That's true. It's just like how Quebec is now a separate and distinct country within Canada, according to Harper. We can all be separate and distinct countries... nevermind paying taxes to the same place, all having the same laws, etc.

So it was a NAFTA meeting? That isnt exactly a plan to merge the countries.

Hank its like the EU in regards to trade but thats all, the EU has alot more in terms of co-operation...well it would have if we didnt keep dragging our heels!

    • chairman_of_the_bored
      chairman_of_the_bored 2007-08-26T16:59:03Z says:

NAFTA is a free trade agreement, the EU is a customs union.

The primary difference is that members of a customs union are supposed to harmonise their laws, above all import protection from non-union members. A free trade agreement just means the members promise to play nice with each other but can basically set their own border policy, particularly with non-members.

That's how you get strange phenomenon like trade diversion when two members have different tariffs for imports. In order to get my goods into the high tariff member, I just import it into the low tariff member and then move it tariff free through the free trade area to the high tariff country. In such a way my low tariff country can still make some reasonable cash by getting more imports and growing a transport industry.

The EU have basically extrapolated that in order to be able to keep the same trade barriers "x" needs to be the same between members and therefore "y" needs to be the same too and so on and so forth.

Yeah dik, Canada will be a separate and distinct country in North America just like Quebec is a separate and distinct country in Canada. It means fuck all. Revenue from the province is sent up to the federal government and re-divided. Quebec's gains or loses are potential gains and loses for Canada. "Seperate and distinct country"... It's a word game, so they can deny that the countries are being merged into one and sovereignty is being lost at the same time that exactly that is happening.

You can travel Ontario to Quebec without being stopped at the border (if you even notice it). You don't need to switch to the quebec currency. You don't need to pay duty or anything on stuff you buy when you come back. You can work there without getting a green card or work permit or whatever. It's the same fucking country. The laws and currency and everything have been basically standardized. That's what's gonna happen to all of north america, while they pretend it's not the same country to keep the retards from figuring it out. You guys might have thought your country would benefit from exporting $70+ oil, overpriced corn, and so on to your greedy neighbors in the south... but looks like the US is gonna get the last laugh!

Only the right wing? No. In universities in Europe during the 60s and 70s little Napoleons of Communist student unions with their own personal bodyguards instigated riots with police simply by threatening their own members to either attack the police otherwise his goons would attack the students. They were just acting out their Che Guevara fantasy safe in the knowledge that Daddy, a captain of industry, would have him bailed the same night.

i think these books fit into what everyone has been trying to tell me about life and the world we live in: IE, TG and savage and all.
I still count myself very special to live in America. I know we have blood on our hands, but quite honestly who doesn't? All empires rise and fall. But who can fault or blame me for believing in my empire? My home? I know the world is so very interesting and there are soo many people pulling the strings of nations. Building them up, making them fall when they dont fit into their grander scheem. It's called the "Game of Thrones" But still. I cant help but be "patriotic" to my own people. I cant help but see and meet and challenge others who would supplant even the greatest of nations. Oh, that's "ignorance," tisk. That's LIFE. Perhaps it is ignorance and pawns, but yet, at the height of the roman empire, it still fell because of all the internal decay. And if you dont learn from history, you are doomed to repeat it. There is nothing much anyone here can do, except bitch and moan, or overthrow. Cival war?

I do my fair share of defending. but yet I still.... believe in this great nation. And that is my sin. I do admit. I know you have good solid arguments TG for as to why America is corrupt, as for capatalism and all, but yet, I am starting to be a capatalist myself. I have my own business. I would never subscribe to communism or anything else. This Republic that is decaying because of Democracy is sad to me.

Jesus. Wow, i am drunk and should not be typing this. But I guess my heart is now open to the reality this world has to offer.

    • El_Wanko
      El_Wanko 2007-08-27T21:42:24Z says:

I think democracy could work. I see the problem as the stupid and docile also tend to be the ones who are breeding. And their numbers give them more votes.

I thought it was a good compromise that only landowners could vote. People have to accomplish something and prove themselves, before gaining the privilege of influencing public policy.

A revolution isn't going to happen. The best we can do as individuals is to gain power (which is simply money, up to a certain point) and use that power to direct policy the right way, as much as possible. And to do that without becoming corrupt.
