...my connection periodically either times out or pauses (the green progress bar in bottom right just sits there). Most the time the page I am on refreshes on the first attempt.
It seems to happen mostly with Mucho for some reason.
not sure what that has to do with bluetooth but if it doesn't primarily on one site the there could be something (images, data, ads) there that is hanging up your browser or not responding timely enough and causing the page to time out or freeze while waiting for a response
I already told you why. The bluetooth device asked for a landline number on install to search for a dial-up connection (I have no fucking clue why).
Soon after (particularly here), I would get the lil spinning blue disc, and no progress in the Firefox bar in the bottom right. A little 'select a network connection' tab would pop up center-screen.
After I went into internet options via my control panel, and checked the 'never attempt a dial-up connection' thing - this made that stop (which is odd...because I use Firefox and not IE).
But now my pc still acts like it's pausing, and waiting for a connection.
Also...sometimes it says it cannot find the Mucho server, but when I refresh once or twice, it works.
