The skin and tissue look completely fake. Skin is not that thick. There should be alot more blood on the guy and the beach.
Though it does look a little fake, that's not all skin. There's also subcutaneous tissue, as well as dermis and fat. So, even though I agree with you that this doesn't look real, it's possible that it is.
