I use Muscle Milk when I'm at home and have time to mix but when I'm out of the houseI use the EAS Myoplex 42gram protein shakes. You can get a 12 pack at Sam's Club for $25.
Alec, the supplements are just that, supplements. They are only there to top up what you CANT get in your diet. Just try to eat lets of chicken, tune etc, anything high in protein. Then add the supplements until your getting around 160g of protein a day.

I have an oddly fast metabolism and when I eat fatty foods, I just burn them faster. If I go on a 5000 calorie a day diet, I should gain a few right?

I can't bench because my arms are disproportionally long for my height.
I don't do much cardio right now, but even that hasn't effected my weight.

Definitely free weights & I'd recommend 4 sets, each of 8-10 reps. Increase the weight for each set.
