I love Family Guy, but watching the DVDs and newer episodes, South park's theory does make some sense. Not OMG SEA CREATURES ARE PICKING OUT IDEAS, but that its completely random ideas for Family Guy jokes.

So maybe southpark creators are rich. At least they don't deny it. They said in one of the interviews that they wanted to sell themselves and become very very rich looong before southpark started.
Both shows were sweet, but the last season of Family Guy was way too much with the self referencing and flashbacks. Still is better that 98% of the horseshit out there, however.
unfortunately its the 11 year olds that don't really get the pop culture references of family guy.
I think their "pop culture references" are (mostly) lame! Cuz a part of the concept is: If (older) viewers get it, fine! But the same joke also must be funny to a 11 years old who doesnt get it...!

I think Simpsons, Family Guy, and South Park are all quickly losing their sharpness. At it's best I think South Park is still the funniest show of the three, but their funny shows are becoming a rarer and rarer thing. Family Guy, I haven't even watched more than a couple episodes since it's come back, and the Simpsons hasn't been funny in 5 years.
I think Family Guy is more suited to 11 year olds than adults. Half the jokes on it are about boobs and poops. I find boobs and poops funny, but only for a very brief period of time.
how can south park rip family guy for usin the same types of jokes on every episode...they killed kenny in nearly every episode for like seven seasons!
only thing about family guy is that outside of america some of the jokes are lost, i admit i dont get all the references but i think thats because im in the UK
The Simpsons has a new writer, that's why it's so shit now. I find South Parks funny episodes sprinkled gingerly throughout the new season and yes Family Guy is getting bad too....but when it IS funny...it's damn funny!

Hey Yak, you'll love this... Bubbles grew up just a few minutes from me, went to my highschool and even the same University as me. Of coarse he is a lot older then me, so I didn't know him, but ran into him once in Halifax at a bar, had a drink with him and talked to him for a few.

I agree with loseatlife, south park's "points", if you can call them that, are totally lacking in any insight. As for family guy mostly its just random stupidity with some interjections of pop culture. Personally, the fart/barf jokes or making fun of celebrities doesn't really appeal to me...
South Park = Was very funny with all the profanity and rudeness, now kinda sucks, too many jokes about politicts, as someone said before.
Family Guy = Extremely hilarious 'random' humour, which I love, but some people dont find it funny, it depends on the person. But the jokes lack any whitt or cleverness.
The Simpsons = The very early episodes has a high volume of 'gayness', for example, flashbacks on Lisa and Bart as toddlers, and extremely gay fucking crappy scenes, for example when Bart and Lisa sing a song to their parents about a new babysitter. But the newer episodes (I dont know if anyone has noticed this but the cartoon drawings express far more details and sharpness in comparison to the old ones). But anyway the newer episodes hold such funny jokes, clever and whitty humour. And also the Simpsons does have a certain degree of 'random' humour, like "Family Guy".
So South Park just sucks...Family Guy is good to laugh uncontrollably...The Simpsons is by far the best, and therefore the most successful, because of its cleverness and sexyness etc etc etc etc i like to eat poo all day long, i cant be fucked writing any more fhwfewfhewfhwf woowowowowoowoo!!!!

satsu you have a terrible taste... and you got it all wrong and opposite. The old South Park was not as funny with the toliet humour and kenny dying the newer seasons were much more funny and the older simpsons were much more funnier the horseshit newer stuff they show now.
Oh ok, so you prefer Lisa and Bart singing, Maggie episodes, Santas-Little-Helper running away, Marge singing Maggie to sleep to the newest episodes, no jigsaw99, it is YOU that has terrible taste, and the toilet humour was FAR more evident in the OLDER South Parks, not the newer ones...dumbass.

How'd the simpsons get into this argument? they try too hard now and their wit seems forced. it's not like the old style of the simpsons that fit so well back then. still think south park has some gems now and then but its kind of fading. FG is just different pace, different type of humor. wish i got all the pop culture references but im not as old as the writers. but that aside i like both south park and FG still. but calling SP random wouldnt be SP. thats more FG. that whole minge n asshole bit was a satire on criminal movies. reminded me of pinky n the brain too. someone should post the orson wells clips here or give a link. its on youtube.com if you wanna search em. classic stuff. wouldnt mind seein the critic ones too.
