Comments to squirrelwars - attack of the rodents
I've done rotoscoping....it's a fun and long process! Funny....but Im still in shock over this new site layout...I had no idea this was coming! I logged in an hour or so ago and it was the old site and then I just came back and WHAM! here this is! Jesus....I'm a little taken back! Will take a bit to get used to it....

yeah... new versions have kinks that need to be worked out. currently, the comments are getting bottlenecked for some reason and are taking a bit to show up. just post your comment once and it will eventually show up. we're working on fixing this right now

i have mixed feelings about this new version.. i was so used to the old look..
yeah... its going to be a transition period, because there are actually features that are *COMPLETE* that we don't even have active right now just to narrow down some bottlenecks and cache issues, so there are going to be some weird things happening over the next few days... the most important thing is that people need to give us comments on things that we are doing, and ideas for things they would like added and changed...
how about the color scheme?
and was the censored thingy in the mucho logo in the old version?
eh, the color and styles can be changed once everything is working.. as far as the logo goes, its kind of got a bit of meaning (not that its in the site yet), we have essentially 2 modes on the site, non mature mucho and mature mucho (default right now is mature mucho) when those states change (from mature to non) the censor will go on and off of the logo... at least thats the idea i had, its just not working yet because there are more important things to fix up :)
so the censured thing is for non mature mucho?
i love it when a plan comes together. How bout yall post a pic of the "old" and "new" MS, and we can all comment on this shit from there, instead of discussing this issue while completely ignoring the park squirrels wielding light sabers? And how the hell did they get light sabers so small?!
well, as you know all jedi's have to make their own lightsaber to truely be a jedi. so my guess is they used squirrel sized components to make them the right size

Admin is admin but also an admin whereas Lava is not the admin and neither are Yak or Deja, but they are admins. Obviously.
we're all "the" admin :P admin the programmer is just too lazy/busy to make his own account and set it with admin access and is using the admin account that's never been used :P

what's with you people and the old colour scheme? you don't like the new stuff? i like the blue, but i don't like the red background pattern thingy myself. but the colours work. easier on the eyes
the layout needs some work.... but first things first, getting some of the new stuff in place and making sure everything works ;P
deja the old colour scheme is what we're all used to.. i like the new version, for instance the new reply function <3, but i do miss the old mucho green..
oh and agree with you on the red pattern, it doesn't match the blue+white..
(but if it would be all blue it would be too much like ebaumsworld?)

The new color scheme seems a bit slick. I liked the old brokedown look myself, but then I'm just one of those folks who dislike change in general.
Also: I can't say I like the lack of separation of vids and pics. I liked that there were different sections in the old system, since the pics hung around a while longer (usually) and you could get longer comment wars going on.
victorious, i just don't like the pattern that's on the red. i think it's too busy, but that's just me. i don't mind the red in the back though. for the last 2 years the new version's always had red in it, so i guess i'm used to that fact already

What was wrong with the old mucho? If it aint broke don't fix it!!! Ebaumsworld changed and thats got shitter, hope this doesn't turn out to be a big fuck up too. I'll give it three days to see if i like it.
the problem is the old version was actually REALLY broke... it was so duct taped together, it was a mess from an admin standpoint.. and from a usability standpoint... sure you got used to it.. everyone did, just like people will get used to this site :) i don't really follow ebaums too much, but what i do know is i doubt he listens to his users... ebaums site and this site differ in that major way, we are powered by you guys so what you means matters to us (at least me)... he just has users that view his shit and go away (or use his forums) theres very little interaction with the owners of the site and the people who look at it (unless this has changed)
all you gotta do is give it a few days for us to get rid of the bugs, then start plopping in the features that we have planned... if you don't like it i'll give you your money back! :P

the vision of it is actually going to be (to start with) your own personal profile of your likes, dislikes.. favorites etc, but what i'd like it to eventually turn into is your own space to do whatever you want with... i guess i envision a blog/sub site where you could post your own stuff to, and have your own little mini muchosucko
I can just picture the flaming some profiles will get, anyone that has let people know their myspace account or when it was found, they got hell lol. Good idea though time will tell.
