Yeah? And what happenened to Democracy after Ancient Greece? Went on the back burner, if not disappeared for several hundred centuries. Instead you had monarchs and the Holy Roman Empire in charge with their power delegated to the aristocracy and papacy. It took the founding of the United States to make Europe see past their ways and adopt a more liberal form of government for the benefit of the people.
That's a nice sweeping statement. There were a number of democracies not limited to small Italian states and the beginnings of parliament in England. And my statement is still true, Europe did know something about democracy prior to the United States.
Which is even more funny because America is supposed to be a "Republic." Never meant to be a Democracy. It's becoming more and more of one, which is why you can see the decay from within.

The democracy is a joke. You vote for one of two people, who will do essentially the same thing except that you feel like you're making a difference, because they riled you up with their opinions on hot button topics like abortion and gay marriage, which probably won't affect your life but you'll be damn sure to vote for whomever you agree with on those subjects.

In fact, it was opposition to liberal politics that helped put Hitler into power. The use of the term "Socialist" by the Nazis was pure demagoguery, and was used specifically to appeal to the malleable minds of the working class.
What's more, in 1934, Hitler obliterated whatever remained of any genuine socialist sentiment in the Nazi party, by simply killing party members who didn't behave.

You're right; I'm fairly hawkish, but I would like to see what the world would be like if we didn't have any troops deployed outside the US. I think the world would slowly descend into a shit-pool, but ya, the US bashing would continue, in-between trying to get into the country any way you could.
Theres only two differences here:
1) Bush isn't killing many of his own countrymen (directly).
2) Hitler got greedy and moved too fast. For imperialism to be successful you need to move slowly.
