To end all the arguments. The flag next to his name is Australian, so he is playing under the Aussie bannern but any cunt acting like this in a sport/competition is not Aussie. He should have his citizenship taken away from him.

The commentator actually said "I think Tony G is talking more like a Lithuanian than an Australian right know", and he was right. I may talk shit on this site a bit, and I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but this cunt makes me mad. He should be beaten down. I'd love someone to post video of him getting arse wooped in Poker some time.

the best part of this tourney is actually tony g not shutting up the entire tourney, making a horrible call against doyle brunson, and actually calling an allin vs devilfish with KJoffsuit and catching.... what a lamer ;P

      yak says:

yeah he won that tourney, he busted devilfish then went over and put his arms around him, i thought devilfish was going to punch him in the face. ;P
the problem with tony g is he actually wins quite a lot, hes just a huge douchebag ;/
i actually play pot limit omaha high low on full tilt poker ;/
i used to play holdem quite a bit, but i began playing omaha high low, and took to it really well because you have a little more information to play with then you do with holdem, which can make no limit holdem a pretty scary game sometimes ;0

    • Darkgrinavatar

I'm starting to get into Omaha. I can see the appeal, but can also understand why hold'em no limit is popular for TV. It has much more of a risk factor to it

      yak says:

pre flop tony g had a slight advantage, but was honestly kind of stupid to 'gamble' with such a non made hand preflop... he got lucky, or rather the coin flipped and he won, he only had a very slight mathematical advantage preflop. if noone 'hits' (has a pair or anything like that) the highest card wins

      2007-01-05T01:05:24Z
    • Wolverine6
      SNIKT says:

True, but his game is as much intimidation as anything else. I've seen him go all in after the river with nothing and make his opponent fold the winning hand. He's like Negraneu, they both like to bet shit hands like 4-6. What gets me is, in interviews, he brags about calling all in and winning with J-K offsuit (the same hand he berates Perry for playing) in the same tournament.

The fact that he held on A+2 and won on a pair of 2's shows that it's more luck than skill.

i no my cards mate i play poker alot, you dont no what card is coming out of the stack so its luck, i guess there are the skills of bluffing. but that is the only skill. in my own opinon that is.

    • Yak
      yak says:

its a game of chance... that doesn't mean its all luck... its about odds and calculating those odds, keeping the money out of the pot when you are drawing or not a huge favorite and putting the money in when you are... poker doesn't really have as much to do with bluffing as it does with money management, if it was just luck, you honestly wouldn't see the same people at the final tables of the world series of poker and such constantly would you? its not like they are the worlds most lucky people, they just know how to manage their money based on their hands.

I agree with you. i get what u mean. i see where your comming from. i feel kinda stupid with my first response now.

      2007-01-05T04:15:35Z
    • Darkgrinavatar

but Yak, you have to agree that you don't choose the hands you get dealt, you only choose when you continue with those hands. That could be called money management, or it could be called reading the other players habits and knowing when you can play them, even if your hand isnt good. That's bluffing. Playing online is shit becuase you can''t read people's faces, or get used to their habits. It is even more down to luck online. at least in real life, although you can't choose your cards, you can choose how you "play" the other players....bluff them/

it was KJ suited was it not? and sure you can go allin preflop with that headsup..... just don't be calling a raise with it

did you guys see his horrible call against doyle brunson? (he won the hand and eliminated doyle with it but it was just like a train wreck, no sane person would have made the call... unless hes psychic which i doubt) doyle had JT raises it preflop against tony g's blinds with 98
      68A flop.... they check turn
king on turn giving the board 68AK, brunson raises and tony g calls, river 4, doyle goes allin and tony g calls and wins (how he called i have no clue)

      2007-01-05T05:15:39Z
    • Wolverine6
      SNIKT says:

Yeah, but since Brunson has been known to bluff big (like winning the WSOP two years in a row playing 2-10) it might be understandable. Tony G. is an ass, but he reads other players well.
