It's about responsibility and doing whats right, plain and simple. That why we have the constitution to set rules about goverment roles in our lives but the sheeple are willing to give up that freedom for a sense of protection thats not really real.

Remember, don't look at Bush as a conservative. Think
limited government: anti-tax (that's not constitutional), anti-war, anti-treaties, anti-policing the world, anti-federal laws over state laws (abortion, drug laws, etc.)
Public privacy and freedom: anti-patriot act, against a future where the government knows everything about you while knowing nothing about them.
This is what a conservative used to be, but power corrupts. Just look for those who prove otherwise. The liberal ideal is moral, but unrealistic. It cannot work with a political playing field riddled with power and money.
And to say that having a conservative mind means not caring about others is ridiculous.
