He may or may not be a nut...personally I think he's just over-excited and doesn't know how to put points across professionally without making himself look strange. Yak is right.
A lot of what he says is very valid. The world is very different these days...especially in US...paranoia is at an all time high...both amongst citizens and administration. This in turn leads to stricter laws, fear and ignorance of other cultures and countries, finger-pointing, and an increase in public protests by those who care about freedom.
In other words...wake up and smell the coffee folks. Orwelle's 1984 never looked so close as it does now...his work of fiction will soon be pretty much a reality unfortunately. Sad.
Oh, and Tolkien was only born in South Africa and lived there for a few years because his dad moved there to make more money. His parents were English...and so was he basically.

Yes you're right +1 mil people will be dead in the US by the end of the year, in fact I'd put the figure at closer to 3.5 mil. But I'd say that all but perhaps a handful will die from terrorist acts.
The suggestion that the government will detonate so many nuclear devices does no credit to even the slightly more plausible conspiracy of just letting one off. What purpose would it serve? Do people even ask that question when coming up with such far-fetched theories?

@ Wioneo - The 'time thing' is part of the string theory. Check out an American show (PBS) titled Nova. They have an outstanding series called "The Elegant Universe" which goes into the string theory. It's some trippy shit. @ Philasour - Well it's not just Fox news. It's all of the news outlets. Back in the mid 80s I purchased one of those big ass satellite dishes (not the dinky little directTV crap) and I was able to watch raw news feeds as they were being transmitted. The shit in those feeds was not what we saw on the news. They would take that feed and twist the fuck out of it until it matched the story they wanted to present.
Yes, it is damn near impossible to break the sort of conditioning that leads people to believe everything their news outlets tell them. Most people do not want to see the truth because it's ugly and horrible. Once you've seen it though, you'll never want that sugarcoated version again.
