Well the cheapest 256GB SSD is the Super Talent for $600... Samsung will probably be more like $650 like the OCZ, so that is about $15,600 just in hard drives, $1,500 for each Quad Core processor... Skulltrail motherboards are commonly used with the 2 quad set-up, so that's a $600 motherboard... two $400 video cards... That is $20,000 already, figure another $3,000 for the case, cooling system, power supply, and RAM and you get the picture.

Just a liquid cooling system alone can cost upwards to $1,200, good cases cost at least $500, good 1500W power supply is at least $300, that RAM they got probably costs $100, probably more. And then all of the fans is at least another $150... Go and try to build that fucking computer yourself and see how far your wellfare will get you for paying for it.

ummm gazoo....you do understand that these are SSD drives right? and the cheapest 250 gig SSD drive on newegg is over $600....
depends on the ssd interface for the drive, the ones they are using are expensive since they are basically hooking it up to the ram slots... you can get ones a lot cheaper but they are crap interfaces where you won't ever get the throughput of those..

First I would like to point out freak, he didn't use a liquid cooled case. And you can get a Thermaltake liquid cooled case for under $300. Fucking noob. I could find prices and post links to build this computer for a lot less than you say, but I'm too fucking lazy and you aren't worth my effort.

And Yak, aren't those drives really just USB/express card type things? Not actual internal drives? So yeah, they will be cheaper I imagine... though I still haven't seen them in 256GB capacities.
And yeah JJF, you can get much of that caseware for cheaper than I listed, but it isn't the best of the best. I honestly don't know a everything about cases, but I know that a very high quality case that can support such a huge amount of hardware plus the liquid cooling+fans that you would put it to keep something like that at 100-120F is pretty expensive. And if I was building something like this, I wouldn't start shaving pennies if you know what I mean.
