hi, and welcome to "How to spot a Noob", i'm your host bird, stevie the trippin seagull.
today's lesson is about retrommenting.
"what's that?" you ask. well, it's the fine art of commenting on posts that are more than 2 days old, e.g. not on the front page anymore. now, in the hands of a seasoned mucho member, retrommmenting can mean great fun and huge lulz, see this link for example:
in the hands of a noob however, retrommenting looks more like the comment above and is a surefire way to single out clueless and unliked noobs.
that concludes today's episode of "how to spot a noob", i've been your host birdie steven, allow me to play you out:
it would be interesting to overlay this with the average age of people.... since well... people that are like 80 years old probably 'mostly' don't have over 9 years of education...
I've never met anyone that dropped out during or just after middle school. In fact, I don't think you can even legally stop attending school in the US until you're at least 16.
Why am I commenting? Maybe because liberals bunch the independent free thinkers in this country in with the right-wingers, it makes them easier to dismiss for not marching in lock step with the cerebrally superior, highly enlightened left which blindly follow the media, and then point fingers at the inbred right for doing the same. And what water does your opinion hold, Hank? You don't even fucking live here, but were still able to cast your ballot for Stuart Smalley. Isn't this country great?
Ignoring the news doesn't make you smart, Roland. You have to read/watch the news, just make sure to do it from a number of sources.
Oh, & make sure you understand the agenda of each source, then you can at least make an educated analysis. News isn't necessarily false, it's just 99% biased.
I read both The Times & Reuters websites for free, plus I have a subscription to the Financial Times which provides a pretty good summary of world affairs.
Your elementary primer on sifting the media for truth was highly informative OJ, maybe next you could do one on voiding ones nostrils of mucus through creating differences in inter cranial pressure, or the post evacuatory removal of fecal matter deposited near the anus aided by small squares of highly processed wood pulp? Bathe us in your fountain of knowledge.
Hank, you could only echo the sentiment of the left more effectively if your head was an empty amphitheater being yelled into by some granola swilling hippy doing yoga while resting on a bed of bean sprouts.
Only because they're the emptiest fucking states in the union. Seriously, outside of Vegas and Reno, there's only about 75 people in Nevada, and even less in Wyoming.
That's great Steven, but the umlaut is a pronounciation marker, right? English doesn't have any different pronounciation for the letter with or without the umlaut, therefore it's meaning less in English, which is why when you see uber written in English is doesn't have a fucking umlaut.
Am I the only one who noticed the darkest bubble has a range of over 25%, while the others have a maximum range of just over 9%? Seems a little disingenuous, since there are people who will only look at the right hand number and assume that's what everyone shaded that colour got.
One of my English thinks "windbreaker" is hilarious, I just think "windcheater" sounds stupid. As does torch, lift, and a plethora of other british words

As for your 'top google result', which I couldn't replicate, by the way.
"In a report from April 2009, J-C. Billaut, D. Bouyssou and Ph. Vincke analyze how the ARWU works, using their insights as specialists of Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM). Their main conclusions are that the criteria that are used are not relevant, that the aggregation methodology is plagued by a number of major problems and that the whole exercise suffers from an insufficient attention paid to fundamental structuring issues"
I even used a US source in my list, you resorted to a list based on no actual methodology in its ranking.
And just because their methodology was criticized doesn't mean that they don't have any methodology or that the criticizers are even right, although they may be.
Comments to USA, by years of education...
Interesting, but the places where it is low (0-9.3) make up about 90% of the population.
jim's got a purty mouf
The places that are high make up about 90% black population (10% mexican).
My county is in the white. St. Louis County, Minnesota, the big county in the upper right of Minnesota.
Thank you.
Hank! Are you a Duluthian?
U betcha.
shouldnt this be the exact opposite?!

No wonder everyone in the Southeast are fuckin MORONS!
dont you mean west half of the united states?
Don't you mean east half?
Don't you mean the whole country?
Don't you hate pants?
great comment wank..
I hate pants. It's why I'm not wearing any.
What does 9 years mean? does that mean no high school? I find that hard to believe even in rural areas.
obviously you've never spent time down south
Isn't the inability to understand the concept of time one of the signs of < 9 years of education?
win.
it would be interesting to overlay this with the average age of people.... since well... people that are like 80 years old probably 'mostly' don't have over 9 years of education...

Depends on the state, hotshot
You're married with three children by the age of 16 in West Virginia & Kentucky.

The cotton belt...
Chicago seems to be pretty dumb...
What? its white! And the makers of this graphic obviously know that white=educated
this map also shows the areas with the highest church attendance, viewership of fox news, and republican voters.
All directly correlated.
^Watches CNN and believes it to be truth.
fuck CNN, MSNBC, FOX, CBS, and NBC. i only trust my news from carrier pigeons sent from wise men on Himalayan mountaintops
Fuck off, Roland. 42Adams is right. This is a map of the republican party. If you are so above the bi-partison bit, why are you even commenting?
Why am I commenting? Maybe because liberals bunch the independent free thinkers in this country in with the right-wingers, it makes them easier to dismiss for not marching in lock step with the cerebrally superior, highly enlightened left which blindly follow the media, and then point fingers at the inbred right for doing the same. And what water does your opinion hold, Hank? You don't even fucking live here, but were still able to cast your ballot for Stuart Smalley. Isn't this country great?
Why would you vote for that mouse? He's just computer generated you know.
Ralph S. was my incumbent of choice, but without the financial backing of major cheese corporations, he was forced to drop out early.
I check the BBC too, which isn't anywhere near is biased as you yank bastards like to make out so fucking often.
My opinion matters no matter where I am.
Roland fancies himself a free thinker. Bwaaaaahahahahahaaaaaaaa. But, nobody else is.
You guys would be better off is the rest of the world were allowed to vote in your elections.
The rest of the world knows more about US politics than most US citisens.
Seriously, you guys have VERY misleading media portrayals of US politics.
Seriously, stfu with your pretended media expertise.
I could write an essay on the subject.
Fuck, I could do a PhD.
You can do one on badly managed waistlines.
Yeah, cause writing an essay is so fucking tough. As for the PhD., you'd be blowing him.
I'd bet everything I have on me having a better knowledge of world affairs than you, Roland. Actual world affairs too, not the shit you get taught.
Hi, my name is Roland and only I know the truth.
Yawn.
I love the west coast.
Looks like Wyoming wins for smartest! with Nevada a close second.
Only because they're the emptiest fucking states in the union. Seriously, outside of Vegas and Reno, there's only about 75 people in Nevada, and even less in Wyoming.
If that's the case, what in hell happened to North Dakota?
Only idiots willingly live in North Dakota.

so did you,
it's "über", with an umlaut.
Fuck your umlaut. My computer doesn't speak kraut.
then cuntpaste it, lazy bitch!
pro-tip: "oe", "ue", and "ae" form perfectly acceptable umlauts without the need for the dots, but they're quite metal!
mäybe i shöüld stärt writing like this, jüst tö äppeär more metäl!
Fuck cuntpasting and fuck you. I bet if you looked in an English dictionary uber would be there without a gay ass umlaut over it.
Umlauts Suck Ass
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Über
wiki says "Fuck you" hank.
i know, i know, "fuck you", "fuck wiki" etc.
snore...
and let me convince you of the badass-itude of the umlaut with one single word: MOTÖRHEAD!
g'night hank.
Blue Öyster Cult > Motörhead
That's great Steven, but the umlaut is a pronounciation marker, right? English doesn't have any different pronounciation for the letter with or without the umlaut, therefore it's meaning less in English, which is why when you see uber written in English is doesn't have a fucking umlaut.
Am I the only one who noticed the darkest bubble has a range of over 25%, while the others have a maximum range of just over 9%? Seems a little disingenuous, since there are people who will only look at the right hand number and assume that's what everyone shaded that colour got.
Yeah, stfu.
Are you sure this isn't just a picture of a stained glass window?
It's the Verizon map showing all the places you have service.
This explains why more Americans believe in angles than evolution.
Fail.
angles exist!
Angles do in fact exist. You can easily prove it by drawing 2 intersecting lines on paper or by looking at the corners of your house.
Or watch ESPN when they announce the baseball scores.
Major Fucking Fail.
Haha!
Well done OJ, you really showed them there
Yeah thanks OJ, -10 for the Brits
No, that's major league baseball.
hahaha
It gets worse. I sat here for a good few minutes thinking 'what the fuck are these people talking about?'.
Balls...
At least you guys are starting to see the humour in irony.
...silver lining...
Save Us, Captain Dyslexia!!
Hank, he's making fun of my dyslexia.
Call discriminatory and basically just assault him verbally.
kcio jfpogpk okfosfk aokf po vpf!
oj, could you translate that ^ please?
i don't speak britard.
The general crux was: 'I like wearing womens underwear'.
Close, "Steven likes wearing women's underwear"
i never wear any underwear.
He was talking about you?
Not according to Fugs.
I find it humorous that brits say pants to mean panties.
Fanny pack is apparently hilarious from a Brit point of view. (bum bag)
Yeah ... we know
and it's hilarious, you yanks and your crazy language!
Fuck off, Spazzy, you droll twat.
One of my English thinks "windbreaker" is hilarious, I just think "windcheater" sounds stupid. As does torch, lift, and a plethora of other british words
One of your English eh?
We laugh at words unfamiliar to us that you use....
You laugh at words unfamiliar to you that we use....
^ That could have descended into an arguement in days gone by, Hank.
You wanker!
Oh, did I miss a word Spazi, you stupid faggot? If you weren't a complete imbecile you could probably figure out what I meant to say.
Knob end.
Another thing that bothers me is that the English insist on using faggy French words for eggplant and zucchini.
At least we know how to use the letter 'u'.
...& you guys need to chill the fuck out with the letter 'z'.
Stop calling Z zed.
Our language, bitch!
And stop calling a period a full stop. I mean full stop, wtf?
America: Poor imitators.
It's lots of countries' language and America is hardly an immitator.
England has a serious case of post-empire insecurity.
*imitator
What do they call eggplants and zucchinis?
aubergines and courgettes.
Just do as we taught you.
I'd like to meet some cougarettes.
Hank, I'm pretty certain you have to be a posh twat with a shitload of cash to get into Harvard, no? So that's not really fair is it?
You chubby chinkball
Haha woops wrong thread, .. ugh who cares .. it's still the same subject.
I am a slender slant-eye.
The higher the black population the lower the education level.
You must have all 12 levels of yours.
Fake ... American education is retarded anyway so just colour them all brown
Them's fighting words them is!
Hey, I resent that~
Irony: my cousin from England wants to come here for college.
Suck on that, you sheep-shagging Scot!
American universities are the best in the world.
Everyone knows this.
Yeah, who's ever heard of Oxbridge?
*rolls eyes*
What do you guys got, 2 or 3 decent universities? Fucking country's not big enough for much more than that.
Actually, she's coming here to work on her PhD. She's still doing regular college in the UK.
2 or 3?
hahaha

"American universities are the best in the world."
When you say 'best', you are talking about the top percentile.
I have proven your comment to be false.
"America has the best university in the world."
That would be accurate.
I even used a US source in my list, you resorted to a list based on no actual methodology in its ranking.
Google results vary based on where you are.
England sucks
Every list has criticisms.
Lets just leave it as, America has more of the best universities than Britain, & that the rest of the world sucks balls.
Especially Canada.
You didn't prove my statement false.
And just because their methodology was criticized doesn't mean that they don't have any methodology or that the criticizers are even right, although they may be.
I got all 12 of mine and I still can't win on smarter than a fifth grader.
haha
I don't get it.
thats understandable
