Promising technology for stuff like this and other complex mouse-driven programs like CAD/graphics. Hopefully there's still the option to do it silently considering the potential for other people's voices to stuff you up or basically making the whole place louder.
Like every other attempt to bring touchscreen technology to computers and gaming, this one will fail too. While it looks neat, imagine how tired your arms would be after playing for an hour or more! They call it the "gorilla arm" effect, and it's why touchscreens will never be used for much more than copy machines.
utterly pointless bullshit!!! and why use top down projection and touch technology at the same time, the shadows your arms cast get in the way all the time and its not faster or more user friendly than a normal mouse, what a load of crap!!!!
First of All, RyogaVee is never "right". That would just destroy the whole reality in which MuchoSucko exist. Gaming is clearly the focus because it is the "Gaming Table Prototype" They would not call it a "Gaming Table" if it was not intended for Gaming.
Second, This is cool technology. I would think that playing a stratagy game like Warcraft would be cool like this. First Person shooters would not be cool and would take too much energy to even try to play this way.
Third, there was a time when people wondered why someone would want to use a mouse to move things around. Just because it is not refined yet (ie using top down projection like Mr. Seagull pointed out) does not mean that next Christmas all the kids on this site (we no you are here looking for the porn...) won't be asking there moms to buy them one of these.

Gaming is not the focus, the technology is. This has MANY more uses than just for a video game.
^ It sure does... Porn, for example.
Porn will drive any technology forward. It'll be the big seller for Virtual Reality, that's for sure.
ryoga is right.
