I remember there was a cheesy '80's alien movie with Rod "Roddy" Piper that was similar to this, where if you wore special glasses, you could see what the aliens really looked like.
That movie is a fucking classic. Half the movie consists of Rowdy Roddy just walking. Walking shot after walking shot after walking shot. And there are so many delicious homoromantic undertones.
