No, that's organized religion. Religion started out as a social construct to bind a people together and distinguish them from other groups.

The thing is, is that they say politicians want to literally dominate the world... for one, thats impossible, shown by all three Reichs (The Romans, Charlemagne, and the Nazis(Who declared themselves the 3rd)), as well as the British Empire. It just cant be done...
The number one reason religion, or spirituality to start with, prevails in every culture on earth is because it gives comfort to the universal fear of death. Religion was created out of spirituality as a means for leaders to exploit that fear. Over time, almost all the explanations that religion gave for the workings of the world were proved otherwise by science, except for the two main ones: the nature and origin of the universe, and death. That's why I think religion is still able to hold the sway over the world that it does, paired with human beings' natural adherence to tradition. Fortunately, the world is becoming more secular, slowly but surely. That's why it'd be impossible to achieve world domination today using religion as a basis. There are other ways, however, even scarier ways. Now it all relies on technology, and the government's potential for domination is advancing as quickly as ever. Be aware, be alert. Think about it.
I'll stick with deism
That must be the same technology thats getting the CIA phonetaps disconnected due to unpaid phone bills. Anarchy will rule long before governments will. Maybe that's the same technology that has helped them catch Bin Laden so quickly.
It really shows how bored western culture has become with it's own existence when people waste their time on paranoid delusions and conspiracies.
